PRIMER: The film
I watched a film called Primer (official site) tonight. This is quickly becoming a cult classic and is in the same league as Pi, Memento, 12 Monkeys, Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Fight Club. Interestingly, the film was shot for US$7,000 spent mostly on film stock and the film’s lead actor, a former engineer, is also the screenwriter, director, cinematographer, producer, editor and composer.
Imagine a few engineer friends who “accidentally” produce a time machine device in their garage. When they start using the device, the friendship deteriorates as the timeline gets tangled. Wikipedia has a good entry on Primer, chock-full of spoilers so watch the film first.
